Sum'Tec Hammer

The Petzl Sum'Tec Hammer is a technical ice axe with an angled shaft, built for steep terrain, mixed climbing, and easy ice walls. The type 2 aluminium shaft is both lightweight and stable, while the steel pick penetrates hard ice with ease. The hammer head allows driving pitons. The Trigrest hand rest reduces forearm strain, and attachment holes at the spike and head accept carabiners or cord.
